Bed Bug Control
Bed bugs are very difficult to eliminate, it requires a professional. Please do not attempt to do it yourself, it can make things much worse.
Identification is the key, many people get bed bugs and fleas mixed up. See the comparison photo below and visit our flea control page if you have fleas.

Top signs you have a bed bug problem:
- Blood spots on sheets;
- New spots when waking up in morning;
- No bugs seen;
- Bites together in lines, on back, arms or legs;
- Second hand furniture recently bought into the house;
- Been travelling and returned recently;
- Cannot be identified by bites alone, very similar to mosquito or spider bites;
Bed bugs are in most cases localised in one room, at least to begin with. Attempting to treat the room yourself will most likely cause the problem to spread to other rooms in your house
Bed bugs have evolved to become very resistant.
Bed bugs have become resistant to control chemicals due to mutations, bed bugs with mutations (with a different amino acid make-up) can be 250 times more resistant to a commonly used pyrethoid. Survival of the fittest ensues and the mutation becomes the norm, creating a large scale resistance very quickly.
How do I get rid of these bugs?
Unfortunately no easy way out this time, but a bit of hard work and thoroughness and they can be beaten.
- Employ a professional
- Discard infested furniture
- Heat - Bed bugs are sensitive to heat above 45C
- Cold - Freezing bugs eliminate them (put small items in the freezer overnight)
- Chemical Treatments
